One of the major questions people always seem to ask is, whether it is important to clean your makeup brushes regularly. A quick answer to that is, YES YES YES! I know it can be a daunting task to sit there and clean ALL of your daily makeup tools. However, just as we should take care of our skin we should take care of our brushes as well. Today, I want to share the importance of keeping your brushes clean that does not only benefit you, but also the longevity of your everyday tools. I also want to give some of my tips and tricks on how to clean your makeup tools – including your sponges (or Beauty blenders)! Because this post is so important, and I want to make sure I share enough detail with you all, this post may be longer than usual! So, let’s get started, shall we?
Today I want to share some advice as well as an amazing drugstore find that will change the way you think about removing your makeup. After a long day at work, or a long night out, the last thing on your mind is taking your makeup off. Trust me, I understand the major struggle involved in trying to get yourself motivated to take your makeup off. Although it can be a very daunting task, or even sound like something that shouldn’t be such a big deal, it is essential.
Every woman has probably had this happen to them at some point. You start to feel a pimple underneath the surface of your skin. Possibly brewing under your skin for weeks but, deciding to make an appearance the weekend you make some plans to go OUT of the house! Well, fear not ladies, I have a quick and easy solution for you!
Welcome back Glam Girls! Today I will talk about one of my FAVORITE skincare devices and cleansers. I’ve tried many skincare devices – the spin brushes, clarisonic, the olay brush, etc. There is one device called the FOREO Luna Mini which I absolutely love to use to cleanse my skin. I want to share with you my thoughts regarding this device since it has been part of my skincare routine for over a year now.
Welcome Back Glam Girls!
I have tried many different types of makeup removers, the washes, wipes, and really anything on the market. I noticed that using these makeup wipes (which I used for a long time), did not help or improve my skin. My skin was stripped of essential oils, became more oily, and more acne appeared. I already have oily skin, so it definitely did not help with the oil production either. I researched a lot about Coconut Oil, and using as a makeup remover. So, I decided to give it a try…and it CHANGED my skincare routine!
Welcome Back Glam Girls!
So today I will be talking about another skincare favorite of mine. One thing I ALWAYS do is wash my face after getting home, followed by toner, and moisturizer. I am one of those people who can’t stand having makeup on my face after getting home (unless I know I will be leaving the house again). I like letting my skin breathe after a full day of makeup. (Trust me, it needs to rest!) Over a year ago, I decided to make a change to my skincare routine. I still use a toner, however, I switched to alcohol free Witch Hazel. In the past, I used any toner from the store like Clean & Clear Deep Cleansing Toner, (or anything I could get my hands on) however, I noticed that it tended to dry my skin out (because of the alcohol content) – especially in the winter time.
The first post I wanted to share with you is my cleansing ritual. It is easy to just try to create a routine, but it is important to create a routine that works for you and your skin type. So let’s get started!
The first step to any beauty ritual is cleansing. We all have our holy-grail cleanser and let’s not lie, we always like trying the newest cleanser to hit the market. If you’re like me your bathroom is probably filled with all sorts of cleansers, however, I always happen to reach for my most trusted. I have relatively oily-acne prone skin and it took me a really long time to find the perfect combination for my skin. It was difficult to find a cleanser that could gently cleanse my face, without over-drying it. After years of trying many cleansers I finally found a regimen that works for me. Let me share my steps to cleansing correctly.
Hey Glam Girls!
I wanted to start off my first post by sharing with you one of most important things I’ve learned in the past couple of years. Personally, whatever I learned about skin care was from my older sister and my own research. I admit that like anyone else, I become lazy when it comes to taking care of my face. For a woman, her appearance is a huge deal. Whether you are going to school, work, or just out to dinner, any glam girl will apply some form of makeup. But, I have one word, WATER.
