Hey Glam Girls!

I wanted to start off my first post by sharing with you one of most important things I’ve learned in the past couple of years. Personally, whatever I learned about skin care was from my older sister and my own research. I admit that like anyone else, I become lazy when it comes to taking care of my face. For a woman, her appearance is a huge deal. Whether you are going to school, work, or just out to dinner, any glam girl will apply some form of makeup. But, I have one word, WATER.

Drinking water is essential in keeping your body and your skin hydrated. The best way to ensure you drink enough water is to keep a refillable water with you at all times. Our bodies are made by 75% water, so it is essential to our survival to consume enough water. Not only does water keep your body healthy, it keeps your skin healthy. One thing I noticed is when I drank enough water throughout the day, my skin looked refreshed and hydrated. On my lazy days, my skin tends to become more dry and dull.

3671267978_9918d170b5_mObviously, drinking water throughout the day is important for our health. There is one other small little trick that I would like to share with you all. Every morning, before you eat anything, drink some warm water (not hot) with lemon (fresh is best). Lemon has amazing digestive, antibacterial, and antiseptic properties. Starting your day off with some warm lemon water will slowly wake up your digestive system and get your body ready for the day. Lemons naturally have a lot of vitamin C – which is great for glowing skin – a HUGE plus! Not only do lemons aid in digestion and your skin quality, it is has great natural properties to aid in weight loss. Now, I am not saying if you drink lemon water you are going to lose weight. It simply acts as a catalyst and allows your body to get rid of unwanted toxins. Thus, it will also aid in weight loss, especially if it is followed by the right amount of exercise and foods. Remember, whatever you put into your body affects you and your skin.

Here are some helpful tips on how to consume more water. First off, you can purchase one of those reusable water bottles (I definitely love collecting these). These are great because they are easy to put in your purse and fill up when you are on the go. Another great way to motivate you to drink more water is to use an app (like MyFitnessPal) to track your water intake (along with food intake). There are other apps like, Waterlogged and DailyWater, and many more out there for both Android and iOS platforms. Small changes in your daily routine can begin to make so much of a difference. Your skin is precious ladies, so take good care of it! So, my fellow glam girls – grab your water bottles and drink up! Stay fabulous, stay glamorous!
